No disembarkation in Libya!

Right this moment, the commercial ship ANNE - sailing a Portuguese flag and owned by the German carrier Jens & Waller - is waiting to disembark about 100 rescued refugees in Libya. The Maltese authorities refused them and pointed to Libya as point of disembarkation. According to the Portuguese NGO HuBB the Carrier Jens & Waller confirmed that they are planning to disembark in Libya.

We are calling on the German carrier JENS & WALLER to refrain from disembarkation in Libya. Libya is not a safe harbour for refugees. In Libya refugees are in imminent danger of torture, slavery, imprisonment and death. The duty to safeguard the lives of those rescued at sea also applies to private actors such as the carrier Jens & Waller.
