We, fifteen non-governmental organisations (NGOs) from Samos, are sending out an open letter to express our outrage at the devastating fires in and around the Vathy Reception and Identification Centre on Sunday the 26th and Monday the 27th of April 2020.
We stand together in condemnation of the inhumane conditions in the camps on the Aegean Islands, which have led to these incidents. We are a diverse group of NGOs, providing different services for different beneficiaries, with the support of different donors. But today, we are united in our call for urgent action from the European Commision (EC).
